Get started by downloading the Zuzor Authoring app, if you haven't done so already. You can download the software here.
You can download the Zuzor Authoring app for free onto as many computers as you'd like. The installer will install the depth camera drivers you'll need for any camera you may use when you run it with live input. Zuzor Authoring contains a watermark - to minimize the watermark and better preview the experiences you create, press and hold "d" while on the Control Window.
Registering Your Installation
The first time you launch the app on a new computer, it will ask you to register the installation. Note that Zuzor is automatically set to run as Administrative access in order to remotely update the experiential content on that installation.
When you click "Yes," Zuzor will send you to a new installation page. When filling out the installation form, make sure to log in to the user account you'd like associated with that installation. In the Create New Installation page, you will need to:
name the installation
add a description of the installation
add the address of the installation
The description and address of your installation are meant to help you keep track and differentiate installations on your account.
Now that you finished registering the installation, you will be able to launch the Zuzor App on your machine. Your installation will now appear under your "installations" tab. In your installation tab, you have the following buttons for each installation:
"Edit Details" to edit the installation name, description or address
"Edit Eye Setup" to change the Content Window and Eye parameters for the installation
"Go to Journey" to jump to the journey the installation currently set to
Each time you run the Zuzor app, it will check that your installation is registered. You cannot launch the application without an internet connection as it will ask you to register again but will never open unless you connect to the web. If your installation loses connection to the web, Zuzor Authoring will send a prompt message as it will no longer be able to receive content updates. Reconnect to the web and click "Yes" to continue using the app.
The Zuzor Player is designed for live deployments. Zuzor Player has the following differences from the authoring app:
it doesn't have a watermark
it allows you to customize your transition images between experiences
it does not require a constant internet connection
it requires a commercial license
it only plays published experiences
To purchase a commercial license, please contact your prefered reseller or contact us.
The Flow Between Zuzor Authoring and Zuzor Player
The general approach in navigating between the two apps are:
Create and draft experiences on a Zuzor Authoring installation
Publish finalized experiences to the Zuzor Player in a live installation
You can use Zuzor Authoring to test performance on different computers, try different displays, and try different depth-cameras. Fully preview and stage an installation using Zuzor Authoring before upgrading to Zuzor Player for your live deployment.
